A version of the new proof system, which will help secure withdrawals from Optimism and other networks based on its tech, will be deployed to Ethereum’s Sepolia test network on Tuesday.
Wyatt, who previously served as president at Polygon Labs and had a stint at YouTube, joins as chief growth officer, where he will be in charge of helping developers build across Optimism’s ecosystem of blockchains.
Celo, which is ditching its standalone blockchain in favor of a new “layer-2” network atop Ethereum, had originally signaled plans to rely on Optimism’s OP Stack, a similar customizable kit to Polygon’s but using Optimism’s “optimistic” technology.
